I was really drawn in by the setting of the town (Perigord). I thought that the author had placed great emphasis on it's mythology and history allowing the reader to get a real idea on the atmosphere and tone of the novel. Serious one minute than lighthearted and playful the next, by the end I really cared about the characters and their plight.

Not my usual cup of tea but I bought this book because a friend of a friend knows the author. It's aimed at young adults but I read it to my young son aged 11. And guess what we both really enjoyed it. The story was strong with no real low points. The action was engaging without being over the top and I like the fact that the language wasn't vulgar. My son and I are definately team Jason.

The cover got my attention at first and despite the fact that I've never heard of Marc Lindsay before I purchased it through amazon on ebooks. The story starts slow typical YA and then it takes you on a rollercoaster ride from there. As much as I enjoyed the main character Jason, it was the love interest Selene that got me really cheering, Tough and sensitive. Can't wait for book 2.

Move over Percy Jackson. Jason Page is the next big thing. If Hollywood doesn't make this into a movie I'll be surprised, it has everything, a shapechanging hero, villians, fight scenes and a mystery to solve. It even has a romance for the girls.

Red Robin rated it 5 of 5 stars

Something original, first time author Marc Lindsay has tried to create a place I think we'd all like to live in and Jason Page a hero we'd all like to be or be with. :)

Looks a little twilighty but the review were good so I decided to give it a go. Wow, in a nutshell a whole lot of fun. I could see this as a movie or tv series.

Didn't want it to end. Really enjoyed the the interaction between the two main characters, hoping their relationship heats up more in the second book. Thought the character Ulysses was hot.

Kicked ass.

Interesting concept aliens and mythology, Marc Lindsay mixes the two well and at the same time making it a fun ride.

Will read Ghosts of Perigord when it comes out.
